Cayuga Lake views

I've been living near Cayuga Lake in the Fingerlakes Region of New York, since 1981. These are  drawings done in the early days of my stay here.  All done in graphite or charcoal and small in size.

I usually start with a very loose sketch, improvising as I go, but often the composition doesn't change radically after this stage. I work mostly on developing the value range and details after that.
