Unbound Art

Fernando is showing hand-made books and paintings at  The Bookery in Ithaca. The work is up and the opening is  Gallery Night, May 3, from 5-8 pm.  The Bookery is in the DeWitt Mall, Ithaca, NY.

I have a show coming up in October in Ithaca at Mockingbird Paperie. The work includes paintings created in 2015-16 from two series -  The Emergence of Form and The Observer is the Observed. Time meets Thought The Observer is the Observed A Receptacle for Reality Oblivious to the Universal Mind

Fernando Llosa  is opening a new exhibit on Gallery Night,  December 1, 2017  at the Community Arts Partnership  ArtSpace Gallery,  in Center Ithaca, on the Ithaca Commons.  The title of the show is "Beyond Ourselves"  a meditation on the mystery of life  as humanity's only common ground. The exhibit will be open throughout December.

I have a new book called In the Distance, Small Beings .  It has reproductions of 24 small acrylic paintings.    I also have a new edition of Life Dancing Life , printed on heavier paper than the first printing.   Both can be purchased at Lulu  for $35. If you would rather come to the studio I will have a limited number of copies available and you can see the original artwork as well as many other paintings. If you did see the show this is a more relaxed way to spend time with the images and ideas, and if you didn't get to the show, well here it is! Enfolded New Generation Garden Party Last year when I quit a teaching job that I had for many (23) years, I had one day a week less employment, and I was unsure if I would be able to sustain that financially. I kept thinking that I would have to start looking for work, but I would just paint until something came up. Nothing has come up yet, and I have been painting since August. These are the first three paintings (oil on board, 30x48") and as soon as they are photographed I will have 2 more to show you. They were surprising to me. I'm sure you can see some garden influence, from the bird house gourds I was growing, but otherwise I really don't know where the ideas came from. I fought this weird imagery a little, but after a while I just gave into it. It has probably been underground for a while, waiting for me to catch up. Kim
